    Sustainable Materials

Our high-quality materials at a glance

    Luxury and Sustainability

The high-quality processing of sustainable and vegan materials is a matter of course for us. But our quality standards go far beyond that: every ingredient - complex models can contain up to 20 components - is selected with the utmost care and tested for sustainability. We are always concerned with further improving the solutions we find - with an eye on the entire production chain. All ingredients meet the highest requirements with regard to the use of skin- and environmentally-friendly chemicals and comply with the OEKO-TEX® -Standard 100.

The processing is carried out in cooperation with long-standing, trusted partners in Portugal and Tunisia.

Our range is PETA-Approved vegan certified and shows once again that luxury can also be vegan and sustainable: For example with Tencel or Ecovero, wonderful and temperature-regulating fabrics that are in no way inferior to silk, but are made from sustainably grown wood. Or our natural undyed denims, which are produced in a way that is extremely water and resource-efficient.

The advantages of flax fiber are considerable: The flax plant requires significantly less water to produce compared to the same amount of cotton. With flax, natural rainfall is sufficient for plant growth and no additional irrigation is required. Flax is very undemanding and thrives even on poor soils. In addition, 5 times fewer (or none at all) pesticides and fertilizers are used when growing flax because flax is not as susceptible. Flax cultivation saves resources and is environmentally friendly. Linen is processed mechanically and no chemicals are required.

Even smarter: We use recycled linen from production waste as filling material for our outdoor jackets.

Cupro is produced by the company Asahi Kasei under the name Bemberg in a very closed cycle. Waste from cotton production (the cotton linters) is used for this. This optimized stretch spinning process works with a solution of copper, ammonia and cellulose. What is new are closed water cycles and the almost complete recovery of all active ingredients used.
For example, 99.9 percent of the copper is separated from the wastewater and recovered for the manufacturing process. The residues that remain in the water are so minimal that they easily meet Japanese standards - and the Japanese standard is demanding by international standards. The fibers themselves are Oeko-Tex 100 certified and therefore excellent in terms of their skin compatibility.

Cupro from Asahi Kasei is even organic. These fibers are also often referred to as ' Bemberg silk '. They are silky soft, hardly crease and hold their color particularly well, and are also very durable.

TENCEL™ is a brand of Lenzing AG in Austria, where the lyocell fibers used come from the renewable raw material wood. The fiber production is particularly environmentally friendly due to the closed cycle of the manufacturing process. The wood and pulp used by the Lenzing Group are obtained from certified and controlled sources. TENCEL™ Fibers are biodegradable and compostable and can be completely returned to nature . They have a very smooth surface with a silky feel, are almost as warm as sheep's wool, are as cool as linen and more absorbent than cotton.

LENZINGECOVEROViscose fibers are made exclusively from certified and controlled wood sources and are produced using significantly less fossil energy and water than generic viscose. The production of LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Fibers cause 50% less emissions and water pollution compared to conventionally produced viscose. They are certified with the internationally recognized EU Ecolabel. This label for environmental awareness is only awarded to products and services that have a significantly lower environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and disposal. The pleasantly silky and light feel of the LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose fibers complement our designs perfectly.

Recycled polyester from production waste helps to significantly reduce the waste problem : In figures, one tonne of recycled polyester saves around 5.7 cubic metres of waste. Recycling also has immense potential for saving energy: compared to the production of conventional cotton, and of course compared to the new production of polyester, studies have shown a percentage saving potential of 40% to 85%. The same applies to the use of water, where up to 90% of the water used can be saved compared to the initial production.

characterized by the love of nature, animals and the joy of fashion

It all started in 2014: Verena Benz noticed a discrepancy in her life: she had already owned an organic store for two years, but the clothes from conventional stores that she liked were anything but fairly and sustainably produced.

So she founded LOVJOI without further ado - with her own production at the company's location in Dürmentingen, Swabia (Biberach district). Former refugees also work there in the sewing department. Verena Benz and her team organized family reunifications, looked for apartments for them when necessary, or helped with bureaucratic hurdles. For the 32-year-old, sustainability begins with her employees. Regular fundraising campaigns are also part of everyday work at LOVJOI.

A lot has happened since 2014: LOVJOI's range now includes not only classic women's clothing, but also underwear, jeans, swimwear and even shoes. LOVJOI is an elegant label for sustainable couture that aims to complete its customers' identity wardrobe.

Whether with a statement piece or dressed in LOVJOI from blouse to shoes and coat: With our sustainable ready-to-wear couture styles, LOVJOI supports its strong LOVJOI customers in every situation, with the perfect key pieces for their personal identity wardrobe.
